There are three main types of loft conversions available – Dormer, Roof light and Mansard. We will advise which conversion is most suitable for your property.
Dormer Loft Conversions
This option is where the existing loft space is not large enough for the proposed conversion. It creates additional headroom for the staircase and new rooms.
Rooflight or Velux Loft Conversions
This option is generally adequate for those contemplating the smaller loft conversion, generally for a single bedroom; study etc, where adequate height is available within the existing loft space. Roof lights can then be installed with a minimum of disruption.
Mansard Loft Conversions
Mansard roofs were considered especially practical because they allowed usable living quarters to be placed in the attic. For this reason, older buildings were often remodelled with mansard roofs.
Although we specialise in loft conversions, JM Loft Conversions also carry out a variety of associated building work including:
- Garage Conversions
